Open Consultations
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Guidance and Consultation
The College received a recommendation from the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario to provide educational resources to registrants focusing on IPV, and the importance of related risk assessments. CRPO has developed a draft guideline on recognizing and responding to clients experiencing IPV in response to the recommendation. Individuals are invited to provide feedback on the draft guideline until May 24, 2026.
The guideline and accompanying survey can be found here.
Expanding RP Authority
The College is in discussions with the Government of Ontario regarding the current authority of RPs to sign off on paperwork related to service provision.
CRPO is proposing an expansion on current limitations to provide better access for clients and to ensure continuity of care, including gender affirmation* genital surgery forms, capacity assessments, Ontario Disability Support Program forms, and OCF-18 forms. The survey also includes questions regarding current practices surrounding forms and fees.
*Please note that the Government of Ontario uses the term “gender confirmation.”
Registrants, currently or previously practicing applicants, and currently or previously practicing students are encouraged to fill out the survey to assist the College in building a case for expanded signing authority. Individuals who are not current registrants, applicants, or students are kindly asked not to participate, so we are able to capture an accurate picture of current and future members of the College.
Eligible parties are invited to complete the survey until May 24, 2026.
The survey can be found here.
