CRPO Applicant Portal Upgrades

Applicant Portal Upgrades

CRPO’s Applicant portal will be offline from January 6 to February 6 for upgrades.

CRPO’s Applicant portal will be offline from January 6 to February 6 for upgrades. The application process will be simplified once it re-launches and will include the following improvements:

  • Addition of a self-assessment to assist applicants in determining their eligibility to apply and correct application type, which will reduce the number of applications submitted that do not meet requirements or are submitted through the incorrect application type requiring a new application and fee
  • Clearer information regarding the deadlines to complete the Jurisprudence module and submit an application once the module is complete so that applicants are less likely miss the deadline and have to pay for the module again
  • Revised wording to the personal information section based on recommendations by CRPO’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group
  • Simplified wording in the languages section to improve clarity to ensure applicants aren’t submitting a language assessment unnecessarily
  • Clearer and simplified currency section with fewer questions to fill out
  • Removal of the mapping tool from the online application with staff only following up for submission of specific competencies from the mapping tool by email where necessary after reviewing the applicant’s course outlines
  • Updated questions for the professional conduct section to improve clarity for what information must be disclosed and where disclosure is not required
  • Clearer questions in the accommodation section with the option to share a request among the Professional Conduct and Quality Assurance departments so registrants don’t need to make the same accommodation request multiple times
  • Removal of the statutory declaration requirement which will mean one less required document and fee for applicants

These changes will significantly improve application processing timelines.

Applicants with an Open application (i.e., not submitted) will be required to fill out the new application questions once the system re-launches. As noted above, the process will be streamlined and will take less time to complete. Applicants that were part way through filling out the application and require a copy of a response to a particular question (e.g., currency or conduct disclosure, accommodation request) or the mapping tool, can notify CRPO at info@crpo.ca by February 6 to request a copy. If you were substantively complete in filling out your application, including having your transcript/credential assessment already sent to CRPO, and you have a specific need to submit in January (e.g., practicum placement/employment beginning in the next month), please email info@crpo.ca.

Submitted applications continue to be processed in the order they were submitted during this time. You will be contacted by email if staff have any questions and once the review of your application is complete.
